Senior Loan Originator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lender to join our team at First National Bank of Oneida. As a Senior Lender, you will be responsible for originating all types of loans, promoting the bank and its lending services, and identifying and serving the community's financial needs.
About the Role- You will travel to solicit first mortgage and home equity loans through referral partners such as realtors, builders, financial planners, insurance agents, and attorneys, as well as through community activities and organizations.
- You will meet with customers and prospective customers at various locations.
- You will complete each loan application and all pre-processing functions, including obtaining all necessary documentation from prospective clients as determined by bank policy and underwriting guidelines.
- You will inform prospective clients of the bank's underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations.
- You will screen loan requests based on bank policies and on types of loans offered by the institution.
- You will propose and review various loan options with prospective clients.
- You will research new legislation and regulations that may affect the Bank's residential lending policies, ensuring compliance with new rules by advising senior management and implementing appropriate changes.
- You will answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments.
- You will communicate complex approvals or denials to the borrower, real estate agent, or builder.
- You will distribute market data, rate flyers, and general loan information to the real estate community as directed by bank management.
- You will promote and participate in the bank's special credit programs and other CRA programs.
- You will actively participate in local business and community activities and maintain close contact with local builders, real estate brokers, and agents, customers, and prospects.
