Lending Professional

The Senior Lender is a key position at First National Bank of Oneida, responsible for originating loans and promoting the bank's lending services.

1. Originate all types of loans, including first mortgage and home equity loans.
2. Promote the bank and its lending services to the community, including referral partners such as realtors, builders, financial planners, insurance agents, and attorneys.
3. Identify and serve the community's financial needs.
4. Travel to various locations to meet with customers and prospective customers.
5. Complete loan applications and all pre-processing functions, including obtaining necessary documentation from prospective clients.
6. Inform prospective clients of the bank's underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations.
7. Screen loan requests based on bank policies and loan types.
8. Propose and review various loan options with prospective clients.
9. Research new legislation and regulations affecting residential lending policies.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or three years equivalent work experience.
• Five + years Lending experience in a financial institution or loan office setting.
• Above average knowledge of banking industry practices, policies, regulations, and laws as it pertains to the lending area (OCC and FDIC).
• Solid working knowledge of bank compliance requirements, as well as knowledge and adherence to Fair Lending laws and regulations.
• Solid computer literacy (Word, Excel) with accurate data entry skills; proficient knowledge of working with spreadsheet and creating formulas.
• Ability to stay current on operational, product, and system changes/enhancements, as well as demonstrate good risk management decisions.
• A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy, and organizational skills required.
• Ability to take 'full ownership' of issues until they are completely resolved.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

• Solid oral and written communication skills.
