Job Summary

The Facility Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of ASM Global Oakland patrons, employees, and assets. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of the building to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all security-related calls and incidents.
  • Exhibit excellent conduct and appearance while on duty, adhering to all departmental and company standards.
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, without compromising efficiency or composure.
  • Comply with all legal and ethical instructions given by Facility Security Supervisors, Facility Security Manager, Security Manager, or Sr. Director of Security.
  • Investigate and compile accurate incident reports, completing all assigned tasks within set guidelines and deadlines.
  • Interact with guests, vendors, and employees in a courteous and professional manner, adhering to all legal and ethical instructions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 0-1 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License.
  • Applicants must have a current Guard Card or Proprietary Security Officer (PSO) Card, or be willing and able to obtain one prior to employment.
  • Ability to maintain good business relations with all departments and staff.
  • Ability to effectively perform in crises and work under pressure without compromising composure.
  • Ability to exhibit maturity by making sound judgments.
  • Ability to memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve relevant information.
  • Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional patrons and employees during intensely aggravated circumstances.
  • Ability to participate in all departmental and companywide meetings.
  • Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Understanding of written and spoken English.

  • Tasks are performed with moderate supervision.
  • Walking and standing occur 90% of the time.
  • Talking, hearing, walking, running, and vision activities occur continuously.
  • Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors, with possible exposure to inclement weather.
