About the Role

Flippo Construction Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in the success of our heavy civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans and specifications to estimate crew costs, including labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible prices.
  • Flag potential risks and review project estimates with the Chief Estimator.
  • Prepare and submit bid documents within the required deadlines.
  • Assume a lead role in job turnover to the Superintendent and project management team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an Estimator for heavy civil construction projects, with a preference for Underground Utilities experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HCSS/Heavy Bid software is a plus.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and government background check.
