Job Title: Pharmacist Consultant

Join Elevance Health as a Pharmacist Consultant and play a vital role in supporting disease management programs and physicians' care plans through drug therapy evaluation and consultation for program participants.

About the Role:

As a Pharmacist Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating member Rx needs and therapies through review of medication history to determine if medications are appropriate.
  • Assessing member compliance with a plan through direct contact with members and their physicians.
  • Determining potential barriers to compliance and identifying solutions to overcome barriers.
  • Ensuring that members understand the appropriate use of current prescriptions.
  • Reviewing medications with physicians when therapies do not meet national standards and counseling physicians about alternative medications.
  • Serving as a resource to the clinical team in disease management and other clinical areas.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BA/BS in Pharmacy and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • A current valid active and unrestrictive RPh license.
Preferred Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A PharmD preferred.
  • Experience with direct patient counseling or education strongly preferred.
  • Experienced Medicaid desired.
  • Call center experience is a plus.

Location:

This role is based in the United States, with locations in Colorado, District of Columbia (Washington, DC), Maryland, Nevada, New York, and Washington State.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $117,600 to $201,600, depending on location and experience.
