Job Responsibilities

The Fireproofer Apprentice will assist the Fireproofing Applicator in installing fireproofing materials on industrial steel to the required specifications designated by the material manufacturer.


  • Comply with all manufacturer's specifications
  • Work closely with and assist fireproofing applicator with their duties
  • Follow all GCI's, Contractor's, and governmental safety requirements
  • Perform work in accordance with Contractor Specifications
  • Take direction from fireproofing applicator to learn the proper tools and equipment to use for specified tasks
  • Assist in receiving and unloading trucks
  • Must be able to use a mechanical sprayer to apply SRFM and able to diagnose any small issues as well as breakdown and clean equipment daily
  • Work off scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolding.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
  • Other related tasks as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the ability to apply SFRM per manufacturers recommendations, read and write and interpret spray charts, and understand oral and written instructions, sketches, and diagrams.

The candidate must be able to work from scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolds, and must be able to work in extreme temperatures.

The candidate must also be able to stand, bend, and kneel often in confined spaces, and work in an indoor and outdoor environment including field, yard, and shop locations.

2+ years of spray experience is preferred.


Travel

Work will be at one location.
