Structures Test Engineering Manager

About the Role:

The Manager of Test Structures Engineering is a key leadership position at Relativity Space, responsible for overseeing the design and analysis of structural components for test stands. This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze static and/or dynamic test stands to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Develop and manage fabrication drawings, projects, and timelines to meet company standards
  • Assemble, commission, and operate test stands to support testing activities

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in designing metallic structures, with a strong focus on test stand design
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and on budget
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, drafting, and GD&T, as well as experience with NASTRAN or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with weld size analysis and hands-on experience with metalworking, welding, and hydraulics
  • Ability to automate workflows using Python, VBA, or other programming languages
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
