Job Overview

Innovative Arts Academy Charter School seeks a dedicated Special Education Specialist to join our team. As a vital member of our educational community, you will play a key role in providing individualized support and instruction to students with special needs.

Salary and Benefits

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. This will involve:

  • Providing tailored instruction in various subjects, including math, language arts, science, and social studies
  • Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Utilizing behavioral therapy techniques to support students with behavioral challenges
  • Collaborating with other educators, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as needed
Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification in special education
  • Experience working with children with special needs, particularly in a daycare or school setting
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and strategies
  • Familiarity with child welfare policies and procedures
