Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Diagnostic Exams: Utilize advanced imaging equipment, including CT scanners, to perform diagnostic exams and produce high-quality images.
  • Verify Patient Information: Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
  • Communicate with Patients: Explain procedures to patients, including risks and benefits, and provide post-care instructions.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists: Review images, make initial observations, and communicate data to radiologists.
  • Respond to Medical Emergencies: Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in process improvement activities to enhance quality of care, patient flow, and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist: Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT).
  • Basic Life Support Certification: Must have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification: Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) within 6 months of hire for employees working in adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS) within 1 year of hire for employees working in cardiology settings.
  • Experience: One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology.
