Key Responsibilities- Perform Diagnostic Exams: Utilize advanced imaging equipment, including CT scanners, to perform diagnostic exams and produce high-quality images.
- Verify Patient Information: Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
- Communicate with Patients: Explain procedures to patients, including risks and benefits, and provide post-care instructions.
- Collaborate with Radiologists: Review images, make initial observations, and communicate data to radiologists.
- Respond to Medical Emergencies: Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in process improvement activities to enhance quality of care, patient flow, and patient satisfaction.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist: Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT).
- Basic Life Support Certification: Must have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification: Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) within 6 months of hire for employees working in adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS) within 1 year of hire for employees working in cardiology settings.
- Experience: One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology.
