The Principal Project Supervisor will oversee all elements of design-build and engineer-procure-construct initiatives. This role encompasses the management and administration of the primary contract, as well as the supervision of engineering, design, procurement, scheduling, and construction management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate integrated Design-Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams from project initiation to completion.
- Administer and manage the primary contract along with construction subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards set by the client.
- Plan, execute, and report on overall project performance.
- Facilitate effective communication with clients to enhance satisfaction and coordination.
- Resolve potential disputes efficiently.
- Oversee compliance with project-specific health and safety plans as well as quality control measures.
- Supervise Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Respond to Requests for Information and conduct value engineering assessments.
- Manage procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier scope, pricing, and scheduling.
- Develop initial project schedules in collaboration with engineering and construction teams.
- Monitor the progress of design and construction activities.
- Handle changes to the primary contract and manage project close-out procedures.
- Conduct post-construction cost reviews and ensure positive stakeholder relations.
- Mentor junior staff and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Over 10 years of experience in Construction Project Management, with a focus on DB/EPC projects in the power delivery sector preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, design, construction methodologies, and project management tasks.
Skills:
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with project management software, particularly Primavera P6.
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as project needs dictate.
