Bakery Food Service Representative

Job Description:

H-E-B is seeking highly motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Food Service Representatives in the Bakery department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a well-stocked and well-maintained department, and ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide superior customer service, answering customer questions and assisting with product selections
  • Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products on a daily basis
  • Maintain all department and food safety/sanitation standards
  • Assist in technical areas as needed, such as baking, frying, and decorating
  • Record production and shrink to aid in production planning
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
  • Completion of Company Orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
  • Strong customer service skills and communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and perform detailed and precise tasks
Working Conditions:

As a Food Service Representative in the Bakery department, you will be exposed to a variety of working conditions, including:

  • Constantly reaching at waist and grasping
  • Frequently standing, walking, and reaching at shoulder and knee
  • Occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, and pushing/pulling with arms
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, cold, and hot conditions and loud noise

Please note that it is the Partner's responsibility to never lift beyond their own safe lifting limit. If an item is too heavy to lift, push, or pull, and/or carry, the Partner must break the box down into lighter, smaller, more manageable components, or ask for assistance from another Partner or a manager.
