Position Summary

MWES, based in Waukesha, WI, is actively seeking CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEERS. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity that offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate should possess at least an Associate's Degree in a relevant discipline, such as electrical or control systems engineering, automation technology, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of hands-on experience in control systems operations. Familiarity with hardware design and programming of PLCs, HMIs, and Robots from the ground up is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience with various industrial or automation equipment, including robots, electric motors, servo motors, and conveyors, along with a solid understanding of current programmable controllers and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer requirements and specifications under the guidance of the Control Systems Manager.
  • Conduct electrical design for controls and power distribution.
  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs, ensuring optimal performance of control hardware and systems.
  • Utilize creativity and engineering principles to address custom machine projects effectively.
  • Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints.
  • Investigate equipment malfunctions to diagnose issues and recommend solutions to manufacturing personnel.
  • Generate accurate customer quotes encompassing parts, labor, and travel as necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle, reviewing progress and contract modifications with the project manager.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% annually to fulfill project obligations.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and colleagues to facilitate smooth system implementations.
