POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is dedicated to delivering clinical pharmacy services to a diverse patient population across various age groups within the pharmacist's area of expertise. The specialist will engage regularly with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to provide recommendations on drug therapies tailored to individual patient needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts pharmacotherapeutic assessments and care for patients within the designated specialty.
- Offers comprehensive drug information to patients, healthcare providers, and nursing staff.
- Collaborates with medical teams to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care is delivered.
- Designs and executes educational initiatives within the pharmacy department.
- Assists fellow pharmacists in delivering pharmaceutical care through direct patient interactions.
- Engages in pharmaceutical research relevant to the area of specialization.
- Implements strategies to enhance service delivery in the specialty area.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience, including at least one year in an ASHP accredited program.
- Completion of a Postgraduate Residency (PGY-1) following a Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE accredited institution.
- Capability to devise solutions for challenges related to patient care and research.
- Proficiency in using computers, spreadsheets, and pharmaceutical software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic is preferred.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE accredited program.
- Completion of at least one year in an ASHP accredited Residency (PGY-1).
- Possession of a current license as a registered pharmacist is essential.
