We are seeking a highly skilled Airport Lighting Technician to join our team at Salt Lake City. As a key member of our airport's maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of our lighting and signage systems.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in lighting and sign systems, using various test instruments and tools.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, and plan and install building lighting distribution systems.
- Maintain electrical equipment, including switches and lighting, by making appropriate repairs and adjustments.
- Read blueprints and drawings, and be familiar with various methods of design and symbols commonly used in electrical schematics.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, time, and materials used.
- Perform preventive maintenance and create maintenance schedules.
- Work with contractors and inspect their work to ensure compliance with airport specifications.
- Design and implement lighting energy conservation measures, and work closely with the Building Automations programmers to implement cost-saving controls.
- Two years' experience working on computer-controlled lighting systems and specialty lighting.
- Knowledge of working with energized circuits.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, electrical controls, and lighting systems.
- Experience driving heavy excavation equipment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license or driving privilege card.
This position requires moderately heavy physical activity, including lifting, pulling, or pushing moderately heavy weights. You may be required to stand, walk, or sit uncomfortably for extended periods. You will be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, dampness, fumes, noise, dust, and grease. You may be exposed to heights and voltages in excess of 5,000 volts.
