The Town of Luray is currently seeking applications for the position of: Events and Promotions Specialist

Salary: Up to $35,000

This is a full-time, non-supervisory role that plays a crucial part in the planning, promotion, coordination, and execution of community events for the Town of Luray. The position operates under the general oversight of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Crew Leader.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the coordination and planning of special events, which includes scheduling, vendor registration and invoicing, event logistics, and the creation and distribution of promotional materials.
• Represent the Town at various special events, with attendance on the day of the event being essential.
• Aid in the preparation of event budgets, invoicing, and purchasing processes.
• Support the development and placement of marketing materials and signage for events.
• Address public inquiries regarding events and registration processes.
• Contribute to park maintenance activities, including mowing, weeding, and custodial services as necessary.
• Be available for after-hours and weekend events, as well as emergency situations.

Candidate Requirements:
Candidates should be reliable, punctual, and maintain a professional demeanor. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid Virginia driver's license, wear Town-provided uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE), and successfully pass a background check. This role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Candidates should enjoy engaging with the public and possess strong computer skills, along with knowledge of online and electronic marketing platforms such as Facebook, Canva, and Microsoft Office.

A post-offer, pre-employment background check and drug screening may be required.
