Medical Assistant II-Dermatology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II-Dermatology to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and surgeons.
Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture and EKGs, check schedules, and organize patient flow
- Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms, assist with walking, transferring, and dressing, and collect and process specimens and point-of-care testing
- Assist physicians with various procedures, take vital signs, and relay instructions to patients and families
- Complete forms and requisitions as needed, manage charts, and ensure information is completed and filed
- Inventory, order, or re-stock medical supplies as applicable
- Set up examination rooms and instruments or equipment, following proper sterilization techniques
- Check expiration dates on medications and medical supplies, disposing of them appropriately
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment, following established personal protective equipment requirements
- Assist in the maintenance of medical charts
- Perform appointment scheduling and registration for patients, updating patient demographic and insurance information
- Verify pre-certification for procedures as necessary
- Provide training and mentoring to Level I MA staff
- High School Diploma/GED with completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course of study
- Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school
- 2+ years experience as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
- BCLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
