Survey Crew Chief Job Description

At CHA Consulting, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our Infrastructure - Transportation/Survey & SUE Team in Duluth, GA.

Job Summary

The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for leading a team of surveyors in the field, ensuring that all survey tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. This individual will be responsible for implementing and adhering to quality assurance measures, providing professional representation to clients, and performing record research, construction stakeout, topographic, transportation, and utility surveys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of surveyors in the field, ensuring that all survey tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Implement and adhere to quality assurance measures.
  • Provide professional representation to clients.
  • Perform record research, construction stakeout, topographic, transportation, and utility surveys.
  • Utilize total stations, data collectors, and GPS technology.
  • Familiarize yourself with company safety, field, and office procedures.
  • Perform all field calculations pertaining to traversing, map interpretation, layout, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma required, A.A.S. and/or B.S. degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD design software & MicroStation software preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a good knowledge about the surveying industry.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate surveying projects.
  • Ability and desire to meet client-driven schedules.
  • Must be able to carry equipment over rough, uneven terrain, and physically navigate varying field conditions.
  • Short-term travel required, valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions required.
