Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Fire & Security Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm and life safety systems, as well as access control and paging systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair problems with electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products
  • Install and maintain fire alarm and life safety systems, as well as access control and paging systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software, systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with district staff and customers to ensure customer happiness
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation and help to train or mentor others on the service team
Requirements
  • 10+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including fire/life safety systems, access control, and paging systems
  • Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Able to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Ability to implement and always follow safety guidelines and procedures
  • Retain any licenses required by national, state, and local codes
