Job Summary

Oncor Electric Delivery is seeking a highly skilled Electric Service Representative to join our team. As an Electric Service Representative, you will be responsible for working service orders involving the disconnecting, reconnecting, setting, reading, and investigating of meters on residential, commercial, and industrial premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Order Completion: Ensure service orders are completed safely and within the prescribed timeframe, resulting in the proper delivery and measurement of electric energy.
  • Meter Reading and Investigation: Determine the type of meters to initiate service, use proper test equipment to determine proper voltage, and guard against faulty or hazardous conditions.
  • Customer Service: Provide quality and courteous customer service while working on service orders.
  • Measurement Device Integrity: Ensure the integrity of the Company's measurement devices and energy delivery through evaluation of a premise for diversion of energy, faulty or inappropriate wiring, and incorrect recording of readings.
  • Documentation: Properly document diversion and other relevant information.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Experience in meter reading or related electric measurement field required. Experience in working electric field service orders a plus.
  • License: Valid Texas Driver License required.
Measures of Success
  • Metering Applications: Demonstrate knowledge of metering applications to include proper voltages and dangers associated with those applications.
  • Sub-Standard Metering Installations: Recognize sub-standard metering installations and take appropriate action.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues in accord with Company policies and standards.
  • Contribution to Work Group and Company Goals: Demonstrate contribution to work group and Company goals.
  • Work Performance: Perform work with minimum supervision while maintaining a continuing mentoring relationship.
  • Safety Procedures: Follow Measurement Services safety procedures to ensure safety of employee and public.
