Overview:

Our client, a distinguished family office based in Arkansas, is celebrated for its expertise in developing and constructing single-family residences nationwide. They have partnered exclusively with Macdonald & Co. to recruit a Multifamily Development Executive to spearhead their new endeavor in ground-up multifamily construction.

We are in search of a Vice President of Real Estate Development to become a vital part of a well-established and expanding team, equipped with a strong land acquisition division and dedicated local and regional construction collaborators. The VP of Real Estate Development will take charge of executing and delivering multifamily projects across multiple states, ensuring that all initiatives are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position does not involve deal sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage all stages of multifamily development projects from conception to completion, encompassing planning, design, construction, and final delivery.
  • Leadership: Direct and mentor a team of development professionals, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Financial Management: Create and oversee project budgets and timelines, ensuring compliance with financial and scheduling goals.
  • Compliance Assurance: Guarantee that all projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and uphold stringent quality control protocols throughout the development lifecycle to ensure superior outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, contractors, engineers, and government representatives, to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and formulate proactive strategies to mitigate issues.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to the EVP of Operations and the Executive Committee regarding project status, financial performance, and significant milestones.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Construction Management, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in real estate development, specifically in multifamily projects.
  • A proven history of successfully delivering medium to large-scale multifamily developments.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, zoning laws, and building codes, with experience in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas being advantageous.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
