Theatrical Lighting Specialist for Children's Production

The City Parks Foundation Arts Department / Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre is seeking a skilled Theatrical Lighting Specialist to design and implement the lighting for a 40-minute children's marionette production.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly experienced and creative lighting designer who can bring our story to life with their technical expertise and artistic vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatrical lighting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Responsibilities- Design and program the lighting for the production, ensuring it enhances the overall visual experience
- Plan and execute all lighting hang and wiring necessary to execute the plot
- Participate in production meetings as scheduled with the artistic team
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in theatrical lighting, preferably in a similar setting
- Excellent technical skills, including experience with ETC lighting systems and programming software
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with rigging and mounting techniques
- Proficiency in GSuite and other industry-standard software
This is a temporary position that requires working nights, weekends, and possible holidays. You will be required to work at heights up to 30' on ladders and personnel lifts, and must be comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Benefits and RemunerationAs a valued member of our team, you will receive a competitive salary of $1,500 for work from December 16, 2024 to January 15, 2025. This compensation reflects the unique requirements and demands of this role.
