Theatrical Lighting Specialist for Children's Production

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled theatrical lighting specialist to design and implement the lighting for a 40-minute children's marionette production at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre. As a key member of our artistic team, you will be responsible for creating a captivating and engaging atmosphere through your lighting design.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and program the lighting plot to enhance the overall aesthetic and emotional impact of the production
  • Plan and execute all lighting hang and wiring necessary to bring the design to life
  • Participate in production meetings with the artistic team to ensure seamless collaboration and communication
  • Ensure compliance with technical drawings and paperwork requirements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in theatrical lighting with a focus on performance settings
  • Friendly and professional attitude, with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute technical drawings and paperwork
  • Knowledge of rigging and mounting techniques, as well as experience with ETC lighting systems
  • Proficiency in GSuite and ability to work efficiently with digital tools
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and possible holidays, with comfort working at heights up to 30'
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $1,500 for work from December 16, 2024, to January 15, 2025, with opportunities for additional compensation based on performance and experience.
