Job Overview
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for executing all routine, terminal, and isolation cleaning tasks efficiently. This includes comprehensive cleaning duties such as high and low dusting, wall, ceiling, vent, and lighting maintenance, restroom sanitation, and floor care. The technician will also manage the removal and transportation of waste, including medical infectious materials, and assist in moving furniture and equipment as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning in various settings including emergency rooms, operating rooms, offices, public restrooms, clinics, nurses' stations, and examination rooms.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards while handling waste and cleaning materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Capability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Demonstrated stable work history, with a minimum of 6 months in previous roles.
This is a contract role with a duration of 2 years.
Work Environment
The position is fully on-site, requiring interaction with patients and healthcare staff. The role involves frequent exposure to medical waste and necessitates physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and transporting heavy items. Continuous adjustments in physical position are required to effectively clean various surfaces. Occasional climbing of stepladders, frequent kneeling, and repetitive hand/arm motions are part of the job.
