Job Summary

The Tool Crib Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the company's shop by ensuring all tools, equipment, and consumables are properly stored, issued, and inventoried. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in a secure and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory records, including periodic updates and requisitions for stock replenishment.
  • Inspect returned tools and equipment for defects and wear, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Deliver tools and equipment to workers as needed, utilizing manual or mechanical means.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment using identification tags, stamps, or electric marking tools.
  • Maintain inventory levels of consumables and ensure all tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in stockroom or tool crib environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of production and tooling a plus.
  • Good computer skills, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.

Work Environment:

This position is performed in a plant facility with extensive noise and machinery operation. The employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear. The employee will also be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch, and lift weights or exert forces up to 50 pounds.
