The School of Korean at Middlebury College is excited to announce openings for temporary Korean Language Instructors. These roles are designed for a summer session that emphasizes both cultural immersion and intensive language instruction.
Program DetailsThis unique program spans 8 weeks and is set in a vibrant educational environment. Instructors will engage with students in various activities, including teaching, dining, and recreational pursuits, all conducted in Korean.
QualificationsWe seek candidates who possess:
- Experience in teaching Korean as a second language within a proficiency-focused framework.
- Background in intensive Korean language programs.
- Preferred ability to teach cultural or interdisciplinary subjects such as music, poetry, arts, calligraphy, dance, or sports.
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. (or be ABD) or a Doctorate of Modern Language, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a successful history of collaboration within instructional teams. A creative, adaptable, and open-minded approach to teaching will be highly valued.
Compensation and BenefitsIn addition to competitive compensation, lodging and a comprehensive meal plan will be provided during the summer session.
