Job Overview

Position Summary: The Café Hospitality Associate plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring that patrons at The Café at the Frick enjoy a memorable dining experience. This position encompasses various responsibilities, including cashier duties, hosting, serving, bussing, sales, stocking, and maintaining cleanliness in both front and back of house operations. The Café Hospitality Associate will contribute to a positive atmosphere, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the café while collaborating with colleagues to uphold and enhance the café's esteemed reputation.

Reports to: Café Manager

Work Schedule: Tuesday through Friday during daylight hours, with some flexibility for weekend and evening shifts.

Employment Status: Part-time, hourly

Compensation: $14.33 per hour, plus shared tips

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain familiarity with daily specials, lunch, and dessert offerings.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the menu to effectively communicate with guests.
  • Provide table service in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner.
  • Welcome guests, address inquiries, and guide them to the ordering counter.
  • Utilize POS systems for payment processing and cash handling.
  • Complete opening and closing sidework duties.
  • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Ensure beverage stations are stocked and organized.
  • Perform bar service duties as needed.
  • Monitor supply levels and notify the Café Manager of any shortages.
  • Collaborate with the Café Manager to resolve visitor concerns and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Exhibit respect and courtesy towards visitors and colleagues at all times.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Strong commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Possess a positive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor.
  • Previous serving experience is preferred.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a varied work schedule.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Willingness to obtain RAMP and ServSafe certifications if not already certified (cost covered by Frick).
