Key Responsibilities
As a technician, you will:
- Execute programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of HVAC control systems, focusing on mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage components.
- Respond to service and warranty inquiries utilizing Johnson Controls' configuration tools and a variety of hand tools, including electrical testing equipment.
- Deliver technical support and repair services through effective communication with clients.
- Recommend system repairs and updates, assisting in the proposal of solutions to clients.
- Contribute to a team of skilled technicians, enhancing your career within a leading global organization.
- Provide exceptional service to clients, addressing building inefficiencies and resolving service-related issues.
How You Will Achieve This
Your tasks will include:
- Loading and configuring Johnson Controls field and network-level controller software.
- Conducting commissioning and diagnostics for all system controllers and end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) while completing necessary documentation.
- Keeping management and clients informed about job progress and challenges.
- Calibrating systems using basic electronic testing equipment.
- Completing administrative duties, including time sheets and expense reports.
- Documenting changes and providing information for as-built documentation.
- Engaging in training to maintain the highest level of expertise.
- Understanding client systems and needs through direct engagement.
- Communicating with clients upon arrival and before departing the work site.
- Adhering to safety standards and participating in required safety training.
- Offering recommendations to ensure operational efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
- Providing quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
- A vocational school diploma or an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a related field, along with three years of industry experience or two years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC sector.
- A strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequences, and applications.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.
- A solid knowledge base in personal computer usage.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $24 to $30, determined by the applicant's education, experience, skills, and alignment with market data.
