Key Responsibilities- Pharmaceutical Services: Provide advanced pharmaceutical services in assigned areas, utilizing complex skills and knowledge to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Equipment and Technology Expertise: Serve as an expert in the use of specialized equipment and technology, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Quality Improvement: Identify opportunities for quality improvement and implement changes to ensure safe, effective, and efficient services and patient care.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, staying up-to-date with changes in the field and collaborating with department leadership to adopt best practices.
- Resource and Training: Serve as a resource for other pharmacy team members, physicians, nurses, and ancillary departments, providing training and education on specialized areas.
- Department Liaison: Collaborate with department leaders to develop and coordinate team member education, training, orientation, and competency, serving as a liaison to system pharmacy teams.
- Licensure and Certification: Hold a Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or a Pharmacy Technician Certified (CPhT) issued by the National Healthcare Association, and licensure in the state for which they provide medication history services.
- Education: High School Graduate.
- Experience: Typically requires 5 years of experience in hospital or retail pharmacy technician role, depending on specialty area.
- Knowledge and Skills: Good mathematics skills, attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, exceptional customer service, problem resolution, and process development skills, and basic computer skills.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the work day.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to chest level, lift and carry up to 35 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance, push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
