Position Overview:
The City of Irving is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Building Compliance Officer. This role is integral to the Building and Standards Program, contributing to the safety and security of our community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the strategic initiatives aimed at maintaining minimum building standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Verify proper documentation and review repair scopes and timelines.
- Prepare and present cases, providing expert testimony during public hearings for the Building and Standards Commission.
- Assist in the oversight of the Boarding Home and Vacant Building Registration Programs.
- Coordinate the Temporary Sign Retrieval Program.
- Engage in educational outreach to promote understanding of code enforcement.

Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required, along with two years of relevant experience in code enforcement or building inspection, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A current Code Enforcement Officer's License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is necessary, as well as International Code Council Certification in either the International Property Maintenance Code or International Residential Building Inspector.
- A valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain one is also required.

Compensation:
- Pay Grade: GG16
- Full Pay Range: $23.52 – $33.17 per hour.
