ADTEK Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead our cold-formed steel design projects in Fairfax, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from design to completion, and will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project design, development, and completion
  • Prepare engineering analyses for QC review
  • Conduct surveys and gather field data as necessary
  • Prepare field reports and interpret blueprints
  • Manage construction document printing process
  • Resolve project problems independently
  • Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards
  • Coordinate design with client needs
  • QC projects by junior managers
  • Study contracts and scope of work
  • Deliver projects within established time periods
  • Respond to comments from supervisor, client, or outside reviewing entity
  • Handle multiple projects and clients simultaneously
  • Manage daily activities of junior engineering and CAD staff
  • Review project progress reports and provide financial assessment
  • Select appropriate standard details for projects
  • Markup standard details for projects
  • Create custom details for projects
  • Study contracts and scope of work
  • Layout and redline overall drawing sets for complex projects
  • Ensure quality control procedures are maintained
  • Review specs for projects
  • Construction Administration (CA) on complex projects
  • Develop details for projects
  • Suggest and help create new standard details
  • Review proposal scope and identify additional work
  • Assist in estimating fee
  • Enforce methods on projects
  • Ensure project remains within budget and on-time
  • Lead kick-off meetings with assigned staff members
  • Manage production staff working on projects
  • Initiate contact for additional service work
  • Meet or exceed individual billing goals
  • Identify additional service requests and initiate proposals
  • Coordinate with other disciplines as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • 4-8 years of structural design experience
  • EIT license or 2 years of design experience with cold-formed steel
