Special Education Assistant

As a Special Education Assistant with ESS Education, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and behavioral needs of students with special needs. Under the direction of a certified classroom teacher, you will provide instructional reinforcement, assist with classroom management, and support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students with special needs, reinforcing concepts and skills under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Assist with classroom management, supervising students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, hallways, during specials, on field trips, and/or during before and after school programs as directed.
- Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans, promoting a safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Observe student behavior and progress, keeping notes and reporting to the classroom teacher and/or other school designee(s).
- Assist with administrative duties, such as recording grades, setting up equipment, and preparing materials for instruction.
- Promote a safe and orderly classroom environment, taking all reasonable precautions to protect students, facilities, and materials.
- Assist with bus loading and unloading during arrival and departure of students.
- Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in performing other related duties as assigned by school administration and ESS.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
- Criminal Background Check.
