About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Field Accounting to join our team at Asplundh. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Operations Controllership Center of Excellence, which includes segment-dedicated resources based in the Home Office as well as Operations Controllers deployed within our family of businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and manage field-related accounting activities related to the month-end financial close and reporting processes.
  • Analyze decentralized field operating and financial results.
  • Strategic business partner to field operations leadership to support accounting and reporting needs to achieve business objectives.
  • Handle other responsibilities, as needed, such as project/system implementation support both within the corporate function as well as field operations.
Requirements
  • BS in Accounting (or similar degree) and CPA preferred, but not required.
  • At least 5 years of field accounting and operations experience (with ever increasing responsibilities).
  • Preferred - Experience working directly with highly decentralized field operations that spans a wide range of geographies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A leader who promotes teamwork and collaboration.
  • Must be able to delegate.
  • Ability to develop a vision of “what could be,” not just focused on “what is/has been.”
  • In-depth experience using modern ERP’s such as SAP or Oracle is preferred.
  • Experience with project costing/cost accounting preferred.
  • Good social skills in dealing with internal personnel, auditors, etc.
About Us

As a full-service utility contractor, Asplundh performs tree pruning and removals, right-of-way clearing and maintenance, vegetation management with herbicides, and emergency storm work and logistical support.

Asplundh is the parent company of Asplundh Infrastructure Group whose subsidiaries provide overhead and underground line construction, planning and design, meter reading and AMR/AMI installation, electrical testing, and street lighting/traffic signal services.

Asplundh also operates Rotor Blade Airborne Utilities Management, overhead electric distribution, and transmission lines using MD 500 helicopters.
