Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Punch Press Operator I to fabricate components from metal utilizing a punch press, which is a CNC machine designed for precision cutting and punching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess finished products to ensure they meet specifications using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Inspect completed items for imperfections and categorize defective parts based on identified flaws.
- Interpret work orders and production schedules to ascertain material requirements and cutting dimensions.
- Load materials into the punch press and configure the machine for operation.
- Monitor machine performance, documenting operational data as necessary.
- Adjust machine settings based on product specifications, employing gauges and hand tools.
- Install and secure necessary punches, dies, and cutting tools within the machine.
- Maintain cleanliness and lubrication of machinery.
- Position and secure materials accurately on machine beds.
- Conduct regular quality checks on production output.
- Execute standard machine shop tasks, including setup and de-burring.
- Identify and report any defective materials or operational issues to management.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform quality inspections as outlined in quality control documentation.
- Commit to site efficiency standards and continuous improvement in safety and quality practices.
- Support other departments as needed.
