Position Overview:
The Dean of Student Affairs is a pivotal role within the institution, responsible for overseeing the comprehensive Student Affairs division. This leadership position entails strategic planning, management, and budget oversight to enhance student engagement and success across the college.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, execute, and evaluate a holistic approach to Student Affairs initiatives, focusing on:
    • Long-term strategies to bolster student recruitment, retention, and success.
    • A data-driven Strategic Enrollment Management Plan that aligns with institutional goals.
    • An annual retention strategy that emphasizes outreach and collaboration.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations affecting students.
  • Manage outreach programs, including partnerships aimed at increasing enrollment.
  • Innovate recruitment and retention strategies to foster a supportive student environment.
  • Facilitate a seamless student journey from initial contact through graduation.
  • Assist in crafting grant proposals to secure funding for various programs.
  • Analyze enrollment data to identify trends and recommend interventions.
  • Collaborate with academic and student affairs personnel to address student conduct matters.
  • Lead initiatives in Student Life, enhancing support services and student engagement.
  • Advise and support student government activities and student organizations.
  • Manage the distribution of the Student Emergency Fund.
  • Act as Deputy Title IX Coordinator, overseeing compliance and training initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the Student Affairs division.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in student services, with a focus on enrollment and retention strategies.
  • Proven track record in managing student success initiatives.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including budget management and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to drive change and foster a positive student experience.

Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within higher education, with a preference for community college experience. At least 3 years in a Student Affairs leadership capacity is required.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises various directors and staff within the Student Affairs division.

Additional Responsibilities:
Participation in various councils and teams related to student affairs and institutional governance.
