Your Role as a Senior Substation Electrical EngineerIn this role, you will be integrated into our Energy division, where you will leverage your expertise in various aspects of electrical energy production and transmission, including:
- Hydroelectric power plants
- Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar
- High and medium voltage transmission systems
- Distribution networks and substations
This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and showcase your technical skills across a range of electrical projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day activities will include:
- Acting as a senior engineer in the design of medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) substations.
- Creating electrical design deliverables, such as power distribution schematics and protection and control designs.
- Engaging with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to foster partnerships.
- Working on complex projects alongside a supportive team of engineers.
- Designing electrical power systems and layouts for various HV and MV projects.
- Conducting power system studies and analyses, including load flow and short circuit studies.
- Preparing Bill of Materials and collaborating with other disciplines to collect data.
- Ensuring quality assurance and compliance with project specifications.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting engineering firm or utility.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
- Familiarity with the US energy market and current codes and standards.
- Proficiency in Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook) and excellent communication skills.
- A valid driving license and the ability to travel as needed.

CompensationThe salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000, with actual compensation determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience and qualifications.
