We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Ascension. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients, working closely with our medical team to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radiation therapy to patients, ensuring accurate exposure of specific areas of the body to prescribed doses of radiation.
- Prepare and position patients for treatment, selecting anatomic parameters accurately to ensure effective treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians and dosimetrists to deliver patient treatment plans, maintaining detailed records of all therapy sessions.
- Maintain and adjust necessary equipment, including linear accelerators, to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards, maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and any other areas in the department.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Radiation Therapist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
