Job Summary

Saxon Global seeks a highly skilled Cisco Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain company LANs and wireless networks. The ideal candidate will have strong network design, deployment, network operations, device support, and Tier II troubleshooting experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy company LANs and wireless networks, including appliances, routers, switches, UPSs, and other network equipment.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Assess LAN/WAN network utilization using monitoring tools. Develop and communicate recommendations for addressing capacity needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field highly desirable.
  • CCNP certification desired; ITIL a plus.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish.
  • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting of Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP); Quality of Service and VLAN configurations; Layer 3 switching, including ip multicast; troubleshooting experience over wide area networks.
  • In-depth understanding of various network services (Trunking, T1/DS1, MPLS, NAT, DHCP, DNS, NTP, HSRP/VRRP).
  • Experience with Cisco router and switch configuration (familiarity with the following hardware types: 29/39xx, ISR 4xxx routers and 29xx, 38xx, 45xx, 68xx, 7xxx Catalyst switches, Nexus).
  • Good understanding of Cisco wireless architecture, design, implementation, and administration.
  • Good understanding of Radius and/or TACACS.
  • Experience with networking tools such as Infoblox NetMRI, Solarwinds, and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.
  • Experience working with enterprise ticketing systems (Service Now).
  • Advanced skills in overall network administration, network installation, configurations, migrations, and problem resolution.
  • Experience working on a variety of network equipment types in a global environment.
  • Experience working on an in-house and outsourced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL certification.
  • CCNP certification.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish.
