Role Responsibilities
Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS) are tasked with managing air traffic in and around airports, adhering to established protocols to ensure safety and minimize delays caused by congestion. Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to radio communications from aircraft.
- Providing takeoff and landing instructions.
- Disseminating critical information regarding runway usage, weather conditions, visibility, and other aircraft in the vicinity.
- Issuing air traffic clearances.
- Conducting weather observations and sharing timely updates with pilots and other relevant parties.
- Transferring and receiving control of aircraft.
Equipment Utilization
ATCS professionals operate a variety of equipment, including:
- Radios and telecommunication devices.
- Computer systems and radar technology.
- Weather monitoring instruments.
- Airport lighting systems.
Additionally, they coordinate with emergency services and maintain accurate records of daily operations.
Qualifications
To join our team, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Possession of an FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
- A Control Tower Operator (CTO) rating or equivalent credential.
- Eligibility to work under Federal Immigration Laws.
- Verification of educational and employment history.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
- Obtaining FAA Security clearance.
