Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Virginia Tech. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for leading and directing staff, overseeing daily meal production, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, taste, creativity, presentation, and variety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct staff to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction and quality standards
  • Oversee daily meal production, including menu planning, recipe management, and food preparation
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, as well as equipment maintenance
  • Contribute to the training and development of employees
  • Collaborate with management personnel to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Knowledge of kitchen and food service operations, including basic math and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and public
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and serve high volume/quality in a fast-paced environment
  • ServSafe certification and HACCP certification
  • Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office and automated food inventory systems
