Job Summary:
As a seasoned Ultrasound Technologist Lead, you will provide leadership and direction to the daily operations of your clinical area, ensuring the delivery of high-quality images and services consistent with the core values of CHRISTUS Health and professional regulatory standards. This role requires a strong ability to coordinate the teamwork of the healthcare team, assign and direct staff, and oversee the daily workload to facilitate and coordinate patient exams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Perform examinations and identify relevant data from images accurately.
  • Communicate pertinent data clearly to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Ensure patient safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Verify patient identification and documentation.
  • Communicate and educate patients regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the procedure.
  • Achieve quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
  • Recognize structures visualized and understand their significance.
  • Accurately produce and record measurements according to protocols.
  • Coordinate patient care and address concerns.
  • Coordinate and plan work assignments with technologists.
  • Help promote staff growth, development, and employee engagement.
  • Optimize productivity through appropriate staffing levels/models.
  • Ensure continuity of care.
  • Establish standards of practice and patient care.
  • Model exemplary customer service, leadership, and display a positive attitude.
  • Responsible for Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations.

Requirements:
A. Education/Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
B. Experience
At least 3 years as a staff technologist preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Current ARDMS Registry, or ARRT required. Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
