Position Overview:
As a Senior Vascular Imaging Specialist, you will conduct advanced non-invasive vascular imaging procedures to assist in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Program and certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) OR a high school diploma or equivalent with current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a certified vascular laboratory.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced non-invasive imaging procedures for Vascular Laboratories.
  • Ensure accurate billing for procedures and manage patient scheduling effectively.
  • Gather necessary information prior to testing, addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Execute all imaging procedures within established protocols and timelines.
  • Alert medical personnel of any significant abnormal findings promptly.
  • Document all procedures in patient records to inform physicians of completed tests.
  • Calculate and assess vascular structures from imaging data to assist in diagnostic interpretation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and workspaces within the Vascular Laboratories.
  • Complete thorough documentation through the electronic health record system to ensure proper billing.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards.
  • Support the development of junior sonographers through constructive feedback on their performance.
  • Engage in educational opportunities to enhance professional knowledge.
  • Act as a mentor for new sonographers, providing orientation and training.
  • Deliver preliminary reports on imaging studies in a timely manner and review findings with physicians.
  • Adhere to and implement established vascular protocols and policies.
  • Serve as a resource for students and assist in their training in vascular ultrasound techniques.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Hearing ability (aid permitted) - must be able to communicate without relying on lip reading.
  • Visual acuity (corrected) - must be able to see both distant and near objects clearly.
