We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Service Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Fire Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm and suppression systems in various commercial and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities- Install, test, and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems, including SimplexGrinnell systems.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in fire alarm and suppression systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure accurate installation and repair of systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and district staff to ensure satisfaction.
- Complete service acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures upon completing service calls.
- Participate in on-call rotations and help train or mentor other service team members.
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systems, including fire/life safety systems, access control, nurse call, and paging systems.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
- Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
