Additionally, the associate aids in the reception of feed materials and responds to emergency situations as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Execute daily cleaning and maintenance tasks within the Feed Mill and its surroundings. Regulate access for personnel, guests, and delivery vehicles to ensure that only authorized individuals are permitted entry; verify visitor credentials and secure necessary approvals. Review and document inspection reports for incoming and outgoing deliveries, directing traffic and coordinating routes with relevant staff to ensure proper handling based on cargo type. Possess a fundamental understanding of animal food safety and hygiene practices to safeguard the quality of animal feed. Adhere to all company policies, Animal Welfare standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Alert supervisors to any potential Quality or Food Safety incidents. Conduct thorough cleaning of the Feed Mill facilities and surrounding areas on a daily basis. As needed, inspect and document the condition of Feed Mill equipment during off-peak hours to ensure proper functionality. Report any discrepancies or issues related to logs, deliveries, etc., to the appropriate personnel promptly. Comply with all safety protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment to foster a Zero-Accident culture. Assist in executing emergency protocols as necessary. Support the receiving process of feed materials when required. Undertake additional relevant responsibilities as assigned.SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
None. This role operates independently and requires competencies such as Functional/Technical Skills, Action Orientation, Problem Solving, Quick Learning, and Interpersonal Skills.EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory. A valid driver's license is required, meeting MVR standards.EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Proficient in completing necessary logs and documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities. Willingness to work during nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed. Ability to follow detailed procedures accurately. Capable of working with minimal supervision.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Adhere to departmental and company safety policies and programs. Utilize required protective equipment in all designated areas (hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, mask, safety vest). The role may involve exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 decibels.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to climb a 125-foot ladder and work at heights of at least 40 feet. Flexibility to work non-standard shifts (holidays, weekends, and/or extended hours) as required by business needs. Ability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts. Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, dry, and/or wet). Ability to operate in dusty and noisy environments. Must wear required protective gear – hard hat, eye protection, vest, hearing protection. Must be able to lift weights ranging from 60 to 100 pounds occasionally.
