We are seeking a skilled Lighting Controls Designer to join our Property & Buildings - Specialty Services Lighting Design Group in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, including commercial, healthcare, hospitality, civic, and educational facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for project designers with the production of lighting projects.
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal project discipline team members and external equipment vendors and manufacturers.
- Work within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners.
- Assist with executing controls design of complex projects.
- Perform construction administration tasks.
- Assist with performing basic professional lighting design work relating to conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, layout, and systems to determine conformance with applicable standards and codes.
- Assist with basic technical assistance on various design, installation, and integration issues relating to creating state-of-the-art lighting design that is innovative and inspiring.
- Bachelor's Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Interior Design, Theater Production Design, or a closely related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
- Familiarity with process and concepts for sustainable lighting strategies, principles, and practices.
- Strong creative skills with an ability to balance lighting aesthetics and client desires with practical concerns.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Attention to detail, highly organized, self-starter.
- Basic proficiency with office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
