Position Overview:

The Director of Financial Education is tasked with the design, coordination, and implementation of financial literacy initiatives aimed at enhancing the financial knowledge and well-being of individuals and communities, in line with Thrivent's mission. This role encompasses strategic planning, curriculum design, program oversight, and collaboration with various stakeholders within Thrivent, including Financial Advisors, Membership, Marketing, and Communications, to advance client-focused financial education content and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates a strategic vision and leads a team dedicated to delivering client-centered financial education initiatives and events that align with Thrivent's core mission and strategic objectives.
  • Identifies key demographics and prioritizes areas for financial education based on comprehensive needs assessments and data analysis.
  • Applies principles of adult learning, human-centered design, and behavioral science to develop financial education curricula that resonate with diverse audiences, motivating them towards improved financial well-being.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure alignment with divisional strategies, optimize resources, and facilitate the effective execution of programs.
  • Establishes and maintains partnerships with external organizations to ensure that content and curricula are research-based, enhancing the effectiveness of financial education efforts.
  • Evaluates program outcomes and effectiveness through data analysis, participant feedback, and established objectives.
  • Acts as a spokesperson for financial literacy, advocating for educational initiatives and Thrivent's mission in public engagements and community forums.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, education, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in financial education, program management, or community development.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on purpose alignment and societal impact.
  • Proven ability to foster collaboration among stakeholders on complex initiatives.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles, behavioral sciences, and financial literacy program development.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Experience working with diverse populations across various backgrounds.
  • Experience in long-term initiative planning and impact evaluation.
  • Ability to navigate organizational initiatives and enhance team synergy.

Preferred:

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience and comfort with public speaking.
  • Background in psychology, sociology, or adult education.

Compensation and Benefits:

Thrivent is committed to attracting and retaining top talent through competitive compensation packages. The salary range for this full-time position is $147,000 to $198,962 annually, depending on various factors including location and experience. Benefits may include bonuses, comprehensive health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other employee benefits.
