Commercial Lending Review Analyst

Requirements

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a business-related discipline is mandatory, with a preference for Accounting or Finance majors.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Federal Bank Examiner, Loan Review, or Credit Analysis role is essential.


Preferred certifications include BAI Loan Review Certification or RMA Credit Risk Certification.

Job Overview

SUMMARY:


Under the guidance of the Director of Loan Review, this position will support the independent and objective assessment of the loan portfolio's quality, the sufficiency of loan documentation, and the efficiency of loan administration processes.

This role involves effective communication of review outcomes, both verbally and in writing.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must be prepared to collaborate as part of a team.

Ability to effectively convey information to management and various employee levels within the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Possess comprehensive knowledge of commercial and consumer lending, banking regulations, and compliance standards to aid in evaluating credit risk and monitoring adherence to loan policies and procedures.

Assist in identifying and assessing credit, legal, and strategic risks associated with lending activities.

Evaluate the collectability of credit extensions by reviewing customer financial data, collateral information, documentation, and payment history. Assign appropriate risk grades to indicate the relative risk of default or loss. Recommend corrective measures to facilitate the resolution or management of problematic situations.

Assess the adequacy of loan and collateral documentation and the effectiveness of loan administration practices.

Review commercial credits of varying types and complexities.

Ability to lead exit discussions for unit reviews.

Work under the supervision of the Loan Review Department Manager.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


As banking is a highly regulated sector, you will be expected to gain and maintain proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, adhering to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations relevant to your conduct and the tasks you will perform.

You will also be required to complete all assigned compliance training promptly.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.

Ability to utilize tools provided in performing job responsibilities.

Must develop a solid understanding of commercial lending, including collateral documentation, generally accepted practices, and financial analysis skills.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.

Ability to draft reports for management that adhere to prescribed style and format.

Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret a variety of technical and financial information and manage both subjective and concrete variables.
