OVERVIEW

Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of both private and public areas, ensuring adherence to brand standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To excel in this role, an individual must effectively perform each key responsibility in line with brand standards and company policies.   • Prepare housekeeping carts with necessary cleaning supplies, fresh linens, and guest amenities.
  • Thoroughly clean assigned guest rooms, including making beds, sanitizing bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and disposing of linens and trash.
  • Change and restock bed linens, towels, and other guest necessities as required.
  • Attend to additional designated areas as assigned, including restrooms, public spaces, offices, and meeting rooms.
  • Ensure all hotel property is functional; report any missing items, damages, or mechanical issues to management.
  • Address guest requests and communicate any guest concerns or complaints in a courteous manner to ensure satisfaction.
  • Document and return any guest belongings left in rooms or public areas.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings to understand daily assignments and tasks.
  • Conduct deep cleaning tasks as necessary (e.g., flipping mattresses, moving furniture).
  • Provide guest turn-down service as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Complete all assigned tasks within the designated timeframes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
  • Understanding of housekeeping and laundry operations and protocols.
  • Familiarity with the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • General knowledge of equipment such as vacuums and commercial laundry machines.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Prior experience in hospitality housekeeping is preferred.

ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Most tasks will be performed indoors in a controlled environment. The role primarily involves standing and walking for up to an entire shift, with occasional sitting or walking for extended periods. Finger dexterity, grasping, writing, and repetitive motions may be required. Tasks may involve crouching, kneeling, reaching overhead, and climbing ladders occasionally.

Must be able to navigate the hotel efficiently to respond to various departments in a timely manner.

Visual acuity is essential, with a focus on near vision and depth perception. Effective communication with guests and team members is crucial.

Employees may encounter moderate to loud noise levels, outdoor weather conditions, and exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

OTHER

Housekeepers are expected to work flexible schedules based on the hotel's operational needs, including attendance at scheduled training sessions and meetings. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Consistent attendance is essential for success in this role, and failure to meet attendance standards may result in disciplinary action according to company policies.
