Salary Range:
$32.15 / hour
- $5,000 sign-on bonus for Full-Time positions only.

Shifts offered for this unit include:

  • Full-time AM: 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week
  • Full-time PM: 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week
  • Full-time weekend AM and PM
  • Part-time weekend AM and PM
  • Flexi/PRN options

UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center is set to launch a cutting-edge inpatient rehabilitation hospital featuring 78 rehabilitation beds and advanced technology designed to enhance functional activity.

Position Overview:

Under general supervision, responsible for delivering nursing care to patients in accordance with the nursing process, UAB Hospital Standards of Nursing Care, and UAB Hospital policies and procedures, while ensuring high-quality care.

Duties include orienting patients and their families to the environment, acting as a patient advocate, collecting patient assessment data, and notifying the RN of any potential issues.

Evaluate patient responses to care, report findings to the RN, document care delivery, effectively respond to emergencies, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, meet patients' educational needs, and serve as a role model for other members of the patient care team.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program is required. Work experience cannot substitute for the educational requirement. Must be currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be necessary.
