UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center is set to launch a cutting-edge inpatient rehabilitation facility in the near future.

This new establishment will feature 78 rehabilitation beds equipped with the latest technology aimed at enhancing functional activities.

Position Overview:

Under general supervision, the role involves delivering nursing care to patients in accordance with the nursing process, UAB Hospital Standards of Nursing Care, and UAB Hospital policies and procedures while ensuring the quality of care.

Responsibilities include orienting patients and their families to the environment, acting as a patient advocate, collecting patient assessment data, and notifying the RN of any potential issues.

Evaluate patients' responses to care, report findings to the RN, document the delivery of patient care, effectively respond to emergencies, demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, meet patients' educational needs, and serve as a role model for other members of the patient care team.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program. Work experience cannot substitute for the educational requirement. A current license or licensure by endorsement as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing is required.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be necessary.
