Fleet Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at TransForce. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in our diesel and CNG fleets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance tasks on diesel and CNG vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform safety inspections and checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond to roadside emergency calls and diagnose and repair equipment as directed by supervision.
- Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles and equipment, including documentation of parts usage and repair times.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school certification in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair.
- At least 5 years of experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or equivalent trade school and/or technical certifications.
- Familiarity with DOT CHP repair processes and controls for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Ability to effectively communicate mechanical issues and required repairs to team members and supervisors.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- ASE Tire Certification.
- Welder Certification.
- Brakes Certification.
- CNG/LNG alternative fuel training.
- CDL Class A/B with air brake endorsement.
- Computer diagnostic skills.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, and smelling continuously.
- Problem solving, oral communication, analytical ability, concentration, exposure to heavy machinery, and eye/hand coordination continuously.
- Bending, reaching, stretching, crouching, and lifting ≤ 50 Lbs. continuously.
- Exposure to unprotected heights occasionally.
- Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet slippery surfaces, hot/cold conditions, and noise continuously.
